A recently added email for Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby. Tracearr collects what landed on your servers, renders it as a digest, and mails it to your members on a schedule.
What is in the email
Four sections. Turn any of them off or cap how many items it shows. You write the subject, an intro, and an outro; the subject can include the server name, the window dates, and the item count.
- Movies. Everything added to the libraries in scope, with poster and year.
- TV. One line per show. New seasons sit under it with an episode range, so eight new episodes read as Season 3, E01-E08.
- Music. New albums, grouped by artist.
- Most watched. Off by default. The titles members played most during the window, with play counts.
Schedule and window
The schedule says when the email goes out. The window says how far back it looks. By default the window starts where the last successful send stopped, so nothing is listed twice and a skipped week is not lost.
- Daily, weekly, monthly, or a cron expression, in the timezone you choose
- The window continues from the last send, or covers a fixed number of days, up to 31
- Test sends never move the window. Send now and scheduled sends do, once mail has gone out
- Cover one server, several, or specific libraries
A newsletter that covers several servers renders one copy per server set. Each member only sees the servers they have an account on.
Recipients
Members come from your media servers. Tracearr picks an address for each one and lists anyone it could not.
- Address order: the contact email you set, then their Tracearr login, then their Plex account
- Jellyfin, Emby, and Plex Home accounts carry no email address. Those members appear in a list where you type one in
- Add up to 200 outside addresses, exclude individual members, or send only to your own list
- Banned, pending, and disabled accounts are skipped, with the reason shown
Delivery
Gmail clips any message over 102 KB. Tracearr measures the rendered digest and trims items from the largest section until it fits. Trimmed items collapse into a +N more line, and the send record says what was cut.

Preview
Render the digest for the current window without sending anything. Multi-server newsletters show every copy.
Send test, send now
Send one copy to yourself to check it in a real mail client, or send the whole digest ahead of schedule. Tests render even when the window is empty.
History
Every send keeps its recipient list with status, attempt count, and SMTP error. Retry the failures or open the exact copy that went out.
Email is a destination
Newsletters use the same email destination automations use for alerts. SMTP only. Presets fill in host, port, and security for common providers, and a Test button sends a real message.
Branding applies to every email Tracearr sends: logo, accent colour, footer text, and a postal address. Unsubscribes go to a suppression list you can view and edit.
Before the first send
Unsubscribe and view-in-browser links use your external URL, so set that first. Title links open on the server the title lives on, so Jellyfin and Emby servers have a public address field. Behind an auth proxy, the unsubscribe, view, and image proxy routes must be reachable without a login.
